KE.M.E.I.E.D.E. focuses on the immediate rescue and maintenance of very damaged educational documents and the preventive maintenance of all the other .

Damage is mainly due to the so far keeping them in inappropriate places . This resulted in the presence of lesions due to moisture , dust , and the presence of microorganisms and other biological and environmental factors .

Another important factor of deterioration of the educational documents was the long-term use .

The Centre collaborates with experienced conservator specialising in servicing the paper. The interventions made ​​for the maintenance and the protection of objects are with respect of their history, their aesthetics substance as well as of how they were constructed.

After the best possible maintenance of the exhibits, they are exposed in space in the permanent, interactive exhibition of the museum material, where the stand safe with dehumidifiers and air conditioning controlled humidity and temperature .

The most sensitive educational records are kept in special antacid archival folders and boxes.

The photographic documentation and the charting of all phases of the maintenance process are used for educational purposes, during the cultural educational programmes.

A group of affiliates, who are specialists, maintain the worn out educational material.
